One of the requirements of this rifle system was that it had to recoil softly. JuneAnn has artificial shoulders. So, although we have a cartridge that is capably harvesting a Bison, we need the rifle to “send it” out the front and not into the shooter. A muzzle brake is a very cost effective way of reducing recoil, but it comes at the cost of increased exposure to the muzzle blast and sonic pressure while shooting. I don’t know about you, but I don’t like getting kicked in the face each time I pull the trigger. It builds a flinch response into my shooting that quickly degrades my accuracy. We decided to pursue a suppressor with an integral muzzle brake. Because of the attentiveness of one of our Pro-Staffers (Gunsmith Kash Anderson) we were able to contact Modern Warriors in St George Utah and secure an Omega 300 DT (SilencerCo). Because of recent attitude adjustments in the ATF we were able to take possession of the suppressor in less than 40 hours rather than a year and a half, as had been the previous waiting period standard.
